The brief challenged me to transform a complex Word document containing clinical trial data into a more accessible and patient-friendly piece of print media for NHS audiences.
The challenge
To transform a clinical trial lay summary displayed in a simple word document format into an engaging print document. Something that makes it easier for patients to understand the information through layout, colour, type and image.
Insights
Presenting blocks of text in an engaging way is essential to maintaining user interest and improving readability. Ultimately, presenting information in a visually digestible format not only makes content more accessible, but also creates a more enjoyable and efficient user experience.
Solution
After identifying and sorting the essential information, I experimented with various document formats to determine the most effective presentation. Through prototyping and testing, I found that a double-sided A3 zine offered the ideal balance of cost-efficiency, simplicity, and visual impact.
